Parkwalk

Parkwalk is a London-based fund management firm investing since 2009. In 2017 Parkwalk joined forces with IP Group plc, a FTSE 250 company listed on the Main Market of the London StockExchange. IP Group is one of the UK’s leading intellectual property commercialisation companies, creating and developing companies primarily based on fundamental scientific innovations from its research-intensive partner universities.

Parkwalk has produced impressive returns for investors, and as a result have been awarded several industry accolades including ‘Best EIS Fund Manager’ at the EIS Association Awards 2016 and 2017, and ‘Best Generalist EIS’ at the Investment Week Tax Efficiency Awards 2016/17. Parkwalk has been named by both Crunchbase and Ascendant as one of the UK’s top 10 most active technology investors annually since 2014 and by Global University Venturing as the second most active investor in the global university spin-out sector in 2013 – 2017.

Parkwalk invests in UK technology companies that have IP backing and freedom to operate, generally spun-out of UK universities. Our funds seek to generate capital gains for our investors, enhanced by the attractive tax relief provided by EIS. Parkwalk entered this investment sector in 2009, anticipating a wave of tax-efficient incentives launched by the UK Government to stimulate innovative emerging technology companies and thereby help drive economic growth.

Parkwalk utilises academic, technology transfer, venture capital and personal networks developed over many years to gain access to the highest calibre deal-flow.

Our flagship Opportunities EIS Fund is open to investors all year and invests in a minimum of five underlying investee companies per investor, and those companies range across the growth curve from early-stage through to AIM-listed, creating a diverse portfolio of sectors and business development stages, with capital raised used for development, commercialisation and expansion through to acquisition capital.

Parkwalk also manage a series of earlier-stage EIS Funds in conjunction with some of the world’s most highly regarded research institutes, including the University of Cambridge Enterprise Funds, the University of Oxford Innovation Funds, and the University of Bristol Enterprise Funds; these funds allow our investors access to some of the world’s highest calibre discoveries and IP.
