Zegami

We are delighted to announce that the Parkwalk Opportunities Fund and the University of Oxford Innovation Fund III have made an investment in Zegami, an Oxford University Spin-out company, as part of a Series A investment round of equity funding.

Dear ,

The technology provides data discovery and analytics tools to manage and sort collections of images and data. It is able to display millions of images, documents, movies, 3D objects or dashboards in a single field of view that users can search, sort, filter or group in real time.

Zegami aims to provide the world with a visual search platform that allows users to make sense of their data in a simple, visual and intuitive way.

Founded in February 2016, Zegami has seen significant sales traction and market interest. This investment round is intended to fund the sales, marketing and business development teams, continue to expand product reach and finalise a scalable cloud based solution.

The Technology
90% of the information humans receive is visual, and this is processed 60,000x faster than text. Zegami’s technology allows users to view large collections of images and associated metadata in a single field of view and to perform intuitive data analysis. Using Zegami, users are able to make sense of the vast collections of image data and their associated metadata, which is key to assisting research in ways which were previously impossible. The ability to use multiple parameters to search, sort and group images is invaluable for picking previously unseen patterns or characteristics in image datasets.

Zegami allows users who are managing image-rich data sets or large image libraries to turn their information into knowledge in a visual way, not only to find the "needle in a haystack", but also to visually identify trends and patterns.

The Market Opportunity
The ability to display tens of thousands of images, documents, 3D objects or dashboards and then to search, sort, filter or group them in real time has generated significant global interest from organisations in Market Research, Financial Management, Plant Sciences, Medical Research and the IT Industry.

The technology has broad application potential across many sectors and sales traction has been achieved in the markets of Human Resources, Education, Physical Asset Management, Plant Phenomics and Museums.

Providing a scalable cloud based solution to automatically ingest large image datasets will allow users to quickly and efficiently create multiple image libraries with intuitive data discovery and analytics alongside machine learning tools to enhance data analysis. The revenue model will initially be in the form of a B2B SaaS Platform.
